We perform at the Northwest Folklife Festival at Seattle Center on Saturday, May 25, in the Arab Show from 3 to 6 pm. Location is Exhibition Hall on the International Dance stage. We will perform two sets: Gulf dance, including a new dance we learned from Kay Hardy Campbell; and an Egyptian dance set -- we wear new costumes we just got from Egypt.. We hope to see you there!

Shahrazad Dance Ensemble is one of Seattle's premier performing troupes. The troupe has appeared at dance shows throughout the Pacific Northwest, at the Western Washington Fair, the Northwest Folklife Festival, Arab Fest and TurkFest for Festal at Seattle Center; the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), and Rustycon, Norwescon and Westercon science fiction conventions.

Your event can be enlivened by a performance of lively folkloric dances from cultures of the Middle East, American belly dance, or innovative fusion dances.

Contact us about anything by clicking the "Contact Shahrazad Ensemble" button to the left. Visit our page on Facebook, too!

Please click the Performances & FAQ button at the left to find out where we are performing.
The troupe or small groups of dancers can be hired for your holiday party.

We performed folkloric dances from Egypt, Turkey and the Gulf States at the Ursalmas Medieval Fair & Tournament in January 2013.

Shahrazad Dance Ensemble performs folkloric Middle Eastern dances based on dance of the Levant, Egypt, North Africa, and the Persian Gulf. We also perform modern Egyptian and American Belly Dance. And we also perform imaginative and entertaining choreography to fusion music when we appear as our alternative dance troupe, The Wild Women of Wongo -- perfect for children's parties, holiday parties and science fiction conventions,

Shahrazad Ensemble's grace, skill and sheer joy in the dance never fails to charm an audience.

Our "Wongo" show is an exciting and innovative entertainment for a holiday party, corporate event or senior living center holiday show. We have appeared as the "Wongo" dancers at science fiction conventions, Halloween parties, and by special request at oriental dance shows. We wear costumes that are works of art, and perform dance inspired by ethnic fusion and alternative music.
